Diamond trio...

Creighton pitcher Pat Venditte, known for his unique ability to pitch with both arms, signed a trio of index cards and the questionnaire, and also included a nice note, in just 7 days. The Bluejays' "switch-pitcher" was drafted by the Yankees last summer but opted to return to school for his senior season. In 2007, Venditte was a First Team All-Missouri Valley selection and Third Team All-America choice after putting together an 8-2 record and 1.88 ERA in a team-high 95 innings of work.

Also signing was Mississippi pitcher Cody Satterwhite, who sent back a single index card in only seven days. The Rebels' righty was a Freshman All-American in 2006 and has been named to the preseason Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, given annually to the country's top player.

Rounding out the day's success was NC State pitcher Eryk McConnell, who signed a pair of index cards and completed the questionnaire in just 7 days. The Wolfpack's man out of the bullpen, who also included a nice note, became the fifth player in school history to record 10 or more saves in a season while putting together a 1.72 ERA in 2007, and the NCBWA named him a preseason First Team All-American earlier this month.
