A mailbox full....

Four successes got the week off to a great start...

Former USC wide receiver and recent Carolina Panthers 2nd round selection Dwayne Jarrett signed a pair of index cards for me care of the team's main address. That success took 27 days. Jarrett is the Trojans' all-time receptions leader, and he holds the PAC-10 record for TD catches, both accomplishments that led to his two-time First Team All-America selections.

Also signing was current Virginia Tech defensive end Chris Ellis. The Hawaiian, who is coming off an offseason shoulder surgery, signed both index cards care of the VT athletic department in just 19 days. Ellis has already been named a Preseason First Team All-American after tying for the team lead in sacks a season ago.

A couple of D-IAA's top players also signed, including star Appalachian State running back Kevin Richardson, a consensus preseason First Team All-American. Richardson, who ran for 179 yards in the national title game as he led the ASU to the victory last winter, signed in just 9 days care of the school's athletic department. It was the team's second straight national title. In addition to the All-America honors, Richardson was also named the D-IAA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year by Street & Smith's magazine after setting a D-IAA record with 30 rushing TDs in 2006.

And finally it was McNeese State special teams standout Steven Whitehead, also a D-IAA preseason First Team All-American, signing a pair of index cards. Whitehead, who can play both wide receiver and running back, signed in 9 days care of the MSU athletic department. He was named the Southland Conference's Player of the Year following the 2006 campaign after leading the Cowboys in receiving and all-purpose yards a season ago.

All four players also completed questionnaires, which can be viewed by visiting the message board. In addition, if you would like to see the exact addresses used to contact each of the players, you can do so by visiting our Success Database.
