A review of the success, failures, and process of collecting the autographs of NCAA football and basketball stars from around the country...
The 18th success of the summer arrived in the mail this afternoon, so I'm now about 60% towards my goal of around 30-35 requests received. This one, from Iowa State RB Stevie Hicks, took 23 days. Like all of the others returned thus far, it was sent to his school rather than his home address. He is the second ISU player I've received a success from already. (The other was WR Todd Blythe.)
No success stories from the mailbox Saturday, but I did get a letter from the University of Utah requesting me to sign a form before they'll return the Brian Johnson autographs. It basically asks to me to sign it agreeing I will not sale the items (on Ebay, for example), nor give them away to anyone else. It claims that once they receive that form, they will send the autographs my way. I'll keep you posted!
It comes two days later than planned, but the last of the 2006 college football autograph requests are in the mailbox. I'll have a complete list of which ones were included in today's mailout in a day or two.
Just placed day two's requests in the mailbox. Half the requests have now been sent, with the second half going out Friday and Saturday. First word on responses should come within the next 7-10 days.
Just placed day one's requests in the mailbox! I generally don't expect to begin to receive anything back for at least seven days, and it usually turns out to be more like eight to ten. More requests go in the box Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!
